Day 2 - Banbury to Calais

Beast from the East? Rain from Ukraine more like. It's absolutely piddled down. Helmet steamed up, roads flooded, bags wet, gloves wet, me wet and now tent wet.
So am I downhearted? Not a bit of it 😁. People can be so brilliant. Riding an overladen Honda C90 just attracts the curious. I've had a long chat with a biker from Brussels and learned about these fantastic strap over fuel tanks ( pics below); The woman at Eurotunnel took pity on me and waved us through onto the train right at the back, after stopping a car just so I could get out of the wet. Thank you lovely Eurotunnel woman.
When I got to the campsite, there wasn't a soul to be seen. It was after the normal reception closing time but I was told to look for the concierge. No luck so I drove round the barriers and started pitching the tent.
"Non, non, NON!" came the yell from out of the drizzle. Arms waving, the security man / concierge was running towards me looking quite formidable.
Why? Well it was because he was concerned that where I was pitching might be a bit too windy and he thought I'd have a better night in a little sheltered spot a short step away. See... I told you people could be brilliant. He then booked me in and insisted on helping me get the tent up in the rain. What a star.
It's just too wet to think about cooking so I've made do with a tin of sardines and a bottle of water. No worries - there are many days ahead for barbeques and fine dining.
