I live in the lovely town of Fishguard, Wales with Sian and Flossy the sheepdog.

I've always ridden bikes. In the past, mostly single cylinder British bikes but I've had all sorts.
I love playing music - unlike the people who have to listen to me. I play a melodeon and sometimes a whistle. Generally folky twiddly stuff. I played for Catseye Morris in Cornwall and am now playing for the inimitable Heb Enw Morris in Pembrokeshire. You'll find me at folk festivals around the country - the best of all being The Fishguard Folk Festival. It's so good that I've planned my trip so that I can get back in time for the start of the festival on May 25.

I also like beer & pubs and my favourite is The Ship Inn, Lower town Fishguard. Phil & Michelle are the best hosts you could find and The Ship is a 'real' pub. No food, just beer and a brilliant atmosphere - oh... and Curly Wurlys.
That's enough about me - get back to following me on my trip 😁

Hi Chris
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Many years ago, I took my Honda 90 across the North Sea from Hull to Gothenburg and then drove it up through Norway, round the top of the Gulf of Finland and down to Helsinki and back home through Sweden, Denmark and Germany. I remember the engine seized up when I got to Luton. I left it there and hitched a lift home. I though the bike was a gonner but when I returned a few days later it started first time and got me home. It must have overheated. They were great bikes.
best wishes, Dave Bowers
Hi Dave, It's probably time you got another one then. As soon as this dread virus clears a trip around the countries I missed on this trip is in order. I had considered India for my next trip but I think Spain, Portugal and Italy might be a better idea first to ease me back into the saddle.
